We are seeking a research associate at early PostDoc level for a
50%-position at the World Glacier Monitoring Service (www.wgms.ch) which
is hosted at the Department of Geography of the University of Zurich,
Switzerland. The WGMS internationally coordinates the glacier monitoring
and is tasked to manage, update, and disseminate data and information on
glacier distribution and changes. The candidate will be involved in data
and knowledge management as well as in capacity building and twinning
related to glacier monitoring. Furthermore, the candidate will support the
WGMS team with the compilation, quality checking, analyzing, and

project phase.

The successful applicant has completed a Ph.D. in cryospheric sciences,
geosciences or equivalent. She or he has excellent skills in the fields of
glaciology and ideally a publication record related to the in-situ and

interest in sustainable mountain development and in capacity building and
twinning activities. Excellent written and spoken English is a basic
