L.S.
Please find enclosed a message from the EGU Geomorphology Division President, Peter van der Beek. In addition to his message, I would like to encourage the cryosphere community to consider submitting proposals that can be jointly organised by the geomorphology and cryospheric sciences divisions of EGU.

Dear colleagues,
As you are returning from holidays or field work and gearing up to the start of semester, now is the time to think about proposing a session in the Geomorphology programme of the EGU General Assembly 2016 (which will be held at the Austria Center Vienna from 17 to 22 April 2016).
The session proposals stage will be open until 18 September. I would like to encourage you to have a look at the sessions proposed so far in the Geomorphology programme (http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/egu2016/provisionalprogramme/GM<http://meetingorganizer.copernicus.org/EGU2016/provisionalprogramme>) and see where you could contribute with a session proposal.
Please suggest (i) new sessions with conveners and description and/or (ii) modifications to the already submitted programme sessions. Note that this year, the new Geomorphology programme committee has decided to not make a “skeleton programme”, i.e. to not roll over sessions from last year’s meeting, in order to provide potential conveners maximum liberty in proposing new sessions. Therefore, we need your input more than ever to propose new and exciting Geomorphology sessions for next year’s meeting.
When making suggested changes/additions to the programme, as a general guideline EGU encourages: (i) a minimum of three active conveners from multiple countries and institutes, (ii) the inclusion of early career scientists, (iii) gender diversity. Please check with all of the suggested conveners that they agree to take part in the proposed session. If the subject area of your proposal is strongly aligned with another programme group than Geomorphology, co-organization is possible and encouraged between programme groups. You will be able to indicate programme groups that you believe should be approached for co-organization in the comments box of the session proposal.
If you have questions about the appropriateness of a specific session topic, please contact the Programme Group Chair and/or the Officers for the specific EGU2016 Programme Group: http://egu2016.eu/information/programme_committee.html.
The EGU2016 Programme Committee will take into account all suggested new sessions and modifications to existing sessions, and use these to compile the final Session Programme as the basis for the Call-for-Papers. Then, conveners of approved sessions will be asked to actively promote their sessions and the public will be invited to submit their abstracts. This will be announced by separate email.
Please inform your colleagues about these opportunities. We look forward to receiving your suggestions.
In case any questions arise, please do not hesitate to contact us at gm at egu.eu<mailto:gm at egu.eu>
With best regards,
For the Geomorphology Programme Committee,
Peter van der Beek
EGU Geomorphology Division President
